TMT Bar Rate in Indore: What Decides the Price of Sariya
What moves the rate of TMT bars (sariya): diameter, grade, length, brand and quantity, and what to send so a dealer can quote you properly. From the counter at Siyaganj, Indore.

Quick answer: TMT bars are sold by weight, so the rate per kg moves with the steel market, the grade, the brand and the quantity. A rate quoted last week may not hold today. To get a usable quote, send the diameter, the grade, the weight or number of bars and your delivery town.
Everyone asks "sariya ka rate kya hai?" first. We do not print a rate on this page, because steel moves with the market and a number here would be wrong by the time you read it. What we can tell you is what decides the rate, so you can compare two quotes fairly.
What changes the rate
- The steel market that week. TMT bar follows the market for steel. The rate can change within days, so ask for a fresh quote on the day you order.
- Grade. Fe 500D and Fe 550 are made to tighter requirements than plain Fe 500, and the rate can differ. The grade is on your structural drawing. Do not downgrade it to save money.
- Brand. Different makers price differently. A known maker with rolled-in markings and bundle tags costs more than an unmarked bar, and gives you a paper trail.
- Diameter. The rate per kg is not always the same across sizes. Thin bars (6 and 8 mm) and the largest sizes can price differently from the common 10, 12 and 16 mm.
- Quantity. A truckload is priced differently from a few bars. Say whether you want retail or wholesale.
- Length and cutting. Bars are typically 12 m. If you need a different length or cut pieces, say so in the first message.
- Delivery. Transport is separate from the bar rate and depends on the town and the vehicle. Delivery arrangements are confirmed with each quotation.

How to compare two quotes
- Compare the same grade and the same brand. A lower rate on a different grade is not a lower rate.
- Check whether the quote is per kg or per piece. A 12 m bar of 12 mm weighs about 10.7 kg; use the TMT weight chart to turn one into the other.
- Ask whether transport and unloading are included.
- Ask which weighing record the invoice will follow, and check the delivery against it.
What to send for a quote
Send this in one message and a dealer can answer without calling back:
- Diameter, for example 8, 10, 12, 16 mm
- Grade: Fe 500, Fe 500D or Fe 550
- Total weight or number of bars
- Retail or wholesale
- Delivery town, or pickup at Siyaganj
If you do not know the quantity, the weight chart and a rough bar schedule from your engineer or mason will get you close.

FAQs
Can I get the TMT bar rate from this page?
No. We do not print rates, because they change with the market. Message us the diameter, grade and quantity and we will check stock and call back with the rate.
Is Fe 550 always costlier than Fe 500?
Not always, and the grade is set by the structural design, not by price. Follow the drawing.
Does the rate change if I buy more?
Quantity is one of the things that moves the rate. Tell us the total weight when you ask.
Do you supply TMT bars outside Indore?
Orders accepted across India; delivery arrangements confirmed with each quotation. Mention your site location when requesting a quote.
