Pigeon Spikes (Bird Spikes)

Pigeon spikes are strips of plastic or stainless steel with upward-pointing spikes. They are fixed on ledges, parapets, sign boards, and beams so birds cannot land. They are designed to discourage perching, not to injure birds.

Plastic spikes: UV-stabilised; economical; suitable for most ledges.

Pigeon Netting

Pigeon netting is a mesh (nylon or HDPE) that blocks birds from entering balconies, ducts, windows, and shafts. It is fixed with hooks or frames and is almost invisible from a distance.

Use: Balconies, windows, duct openings, and open shafts.
Material: Nylon or HDPE; various colours and mesh sizes.

Installation Basics

Spikes:

Clean the surface and fix the strip the way the spike maker specifies for that surface (adhesive, screws or clips). Cover the whole ledge so there is no gap to land in.

Netting:

Measure the opening. Fix hooks or a frame at the perimeter with anchors suited to the wall and the net maker's instructions. Stretch and attach the net, keeping the tension even.
